History of the museum

In 1978, the S. Mukanov House and Museum was organized and opened, where the writer lived from 1965 to 1973 and spent the last eight years of his life. The museum features the writer's works written in various genres, manuscripts, photographs, souvenirs and many other exhibits. Each object, books and manuscripts has its own story, its own mystery.

In 1991, the G. Musrepov Literary and Memorial House-Museum was opened in the house where the writer lived and worked from 1968 to 1985. The museum features exhibits that reveal the writer's life and work. Since 2015, the “Literary and Memorial Museum Complex S. Mukanova and G. Musrepov” became part of the “Association of Museums of Almaty”.
